I was born in Iowa, but moved to Southern California at 7 years of age. I have loved drawing and painting from a very young age. My father noticed my natural talent and presented me with a set of oil paints and brushes for Christmas when I was 15. Without any training in how to use the paints, I soon lost interest and went back to drawing with pencils.
I married Tom when I was 20 years old and, together, we raised two children. As the years passed, our children had many art experiences with me while schooling at home. When they reached the upper grade levels, I attended a class with them in watercolor painting. It was from this class that I discovered that I really
enjoy watercolor! Now I paint continually with my work evolving with each new creation.
Whenever possible, I continue to grow through workshops given by more skilled and accomplished artists. I believe my talent is a gift from God and want to pass my blessing on to others.
In 2004, my husband retired and we moved to the beautiful state of Arizona. It has become a little more difficult to find the abundance of flowers for photographing that I had while in California. I won't let that stop me, I'll just have to look a little harder.
Over the years, I have taught many art classes to the homeschool community. I am currently available for classes in drawing and watercolor painting.
