My favorite subject matter is flowers. I especially enjoy painting white flowers. They have so many subtle colors in them. They are a joy to paint. A major problem, for me, is finding flowers to photograph. I live in the desert and don't see many around. I paint mostly from my own photos, but occasionally a friend or family member gives me a nice one. If I paint from any other source, the painting is never for sale.
This is from a photo that I took at our public library, at the time, in California. They have a beautiful Magnolia tree. I have painted from this photo multiple times and the paintings always look different.
